“My year at the Teen Parent Unit has been the best year. My son just turned two and he is a happy energetic boy. I am proud of how far I have come with learning, having gained Level 1 and 2 NCEA. I am looking forward to gaining Level 3 in 2023 and having a great summer holiday”

 “My year at the TPU has been awesome. I’ve accomplished many of the goals I set for myself. I gained NCEA Level 1 and I am 10 credits away from getting gaining Level 2. By this time next year, I would like to have completed Level 3 NCEA and my full driver’s license”.

“I started my schooling at Freyberg Highschool and came to the TPU when my daughter Sophie was born. I like to go to school and at school I like to study English. I have new friends at school and the teachers help me to learn. I am happy to be living in New Zealand because living here is very nice”
 

“2022 has been a rollercoaster of a year for me, however I am thankful for all the support and opportunities that I have been given. I am proud how far I have come as a person and of everything that I have accomplished this year”.

“This year has been a lot better than I had thought. I am proud of myself for achieving NCEA Level 1 & 2 and 23 credits towards Level 3. I’ve been spending most my time in the art room working on things like my portfolio, paintings, wood carving and ink prints with Paula. I enjoy art because it is a therapeutic subject for me. Art is a great way for me to calm myself down and it helps decrease my high stress level”.
