Sports Manawatu
Ever week we have sports Manawatu come to the unit to take is in a range of sports and fitness drills. It is lovely to get out of the classroom environment and we are lucky to have access to Sports Manawatu.
Interview Ready Day
In May of 2022 the students had the option to participate in an interview ready day,, as part of this they were taken out to get interview outfits, had their hair and make up done, and got head shots taken for the their CV. The girls then practiced interviewing with a local business woman Jen Taylor from Taylored Mortgages. They recieved Level 2 credits as well.
Pink Shirt Day
This year the we celebrated Pink Shirt Day with the ECE, we made cup cakes and enjoyed hanging out with our Tamariki for the morning sharing this special message.
'Speak up, stand together, stop bullying'
Netball
Every year the unit runs a Netball Fun Day where our whanau competes with other TPUs around NZ. We do multiple practices to prepare for this, and it is a lot of fun.
Health and Safety Courses
We had the opportunity to do a Level 2 Youth Responder Course worth 8 credits, a Level 3 Small Emergencies Course worth 8 credits and a Level 3 Health and Safety in the workplace Course worth 8 credit. These were great for the students as it gave them practical students to take with them through
